A serious collision involving a CTB bus from Chilaw depot and a cement-laden lorry has left 35 individuals injured and hospitalized. The incident occurred in the Irattakulam area of Madampe earlier today.
According to reports from Madampe Police, the CTB bus, en route from Devala junction to Colombo via Chilaw, lost control and collided with the lorry, which was traveling towards Colombo from Puttalam. The impact caused extensive damage to the bus’s side.
The injured have been rushed to Chilaw General Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Hospital sources have confirmed that some patients are in critical condition.
