The 48th National Games witnessed a remarkable display of athleticism as Sri Lanka celebrates the creation of six new national records! Held at the illustrious Polonnaruwa National Stadium over four electrifying days, the stage was set for unparalleled achievements.

Amidst the fervent competition, the Women’s Weightlifting Championship saw the North Central Province Women’s Team soar to victory, clinching the coveted Overall Championship title. Their astounding performance yielded a remarkable tally of 03 gold, 04 silver, and 01 bronze medals, showcasing their unparalleled strength and skill.

Not to be outdone, the North West Province Team emerged triumphant in the Men’s Championship, securing their dominance with an impressive haul of 04 gold and 01 bronze medals. Their stellar performance reverberated across the arena, leaving a lasting impression on spectators and competitors alike.

In a testament to their unwavering dedication, Isuru Dilanka Bandara of the North-West province stood out as the beacon of excellence, earning recognition as the tournament’s top performer.
