In response to a reported leak of one of the exam papers, the Ministry of Education has declared that the results survey for the Fifth Grade Scholarship Examination will be temporarily suspended. At today’s (20) press briefing, Ministry Secretary Mrs. Thilaka Jayasundara disclosed this decision. The matter has been investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Department of Examinations.
This test, which was created with the intention of awarding scholarships, has grown quite competitive, and events such as these can have a big effect on children. Parents should not panic, as the Ministry has reassured them that action is being made to rectify the situation. No action will be done to process or release the exam results until the investigation is finished.
