The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced that Sri Lanka has been eliminated from the first round of this year’s T20 World Cup. The Sri Lankan team lost two out of the three matches they played, with one match being abandoned due to rain.
Hopes for advancing to the Super Eight round were dashed yesterday (13th) when Bangladesh secured a victory over the Netherlands. Although Sri Lanka has one more match to play in the tournament against the Netherlands, their chances of progressing are now over, regardless of the outcome.
