Mr. Basil Rajapaksa, the founder of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and a former minister, departed early this morning (20th) aboard an Emirates flight headed for Dubai from Bandaranaike International Airport.
As to the airport sources, Rajapaksa paid 206 US dollars to use the premium ‘Gold Route’ terminal at the airport to catch Emirates flight EK-649 at 3:05 AM.
According to reports, Mr. Rajapaksa is traveling to the United States and will stop in Dubai en way. It is said that this is his usual path when he leaves for America.
