Thirteen puppies, born to two of the Police Canine Division’s recently acquired service canines, have arrived. The puppies, given by Denperds and Lia, are a part of a fresh batch of 35 canines that strengthened the ranks of Sri Lanka’s official police dog squad last week when they arrived from the Netherlands.
Breeds renowned for their prowess in detection and police enforcement, like English Springer Spaniels, German Shepherds, and Belgian Malinois, are among the newest entrants. Under the skilled guidance of Dr. Amal Dissanayake from the Police Dog Division, the moms and their puppies are receiving excellent care at the Asgiriya Police Dog Headquarters in Kandy.
These dogs’ presence is especially welcome because they are essential in battling the nation’s drug problem and deterring crime. Securatec Lanka Pvt. Limited, the organization in charge of managing this initiative and guaranteeing the safe arrival of these carefully chosen dogs in Sri Lanka, has received praise from security officials.
