Sri Lankan Swimmers Kyle Abeysinghe and Ganga Senaviratne Secure Spots for Paris Olympics 2024


In a historic achievement for Sri Lankan aquatics, Kyle Abeysinghe and Ganga Senaviratne have clinched their spots at the Paris Olympics 2024. The duo achieved this milestone by delivering standout performances at the 2024 World Aquatic Championships held in Doha, where they recorded the highest scores among Sri Lankan swimmers.

Under the wild card system, Abeysinghe and Senaviratne will proudly represent their country in the prestigious event. Abeysinghe, set to compete in the men’s 100m freestyle, will continue his family’s legacy at the Paris La Defense Arena on July 30, marking his debut on the Olympic stage.
