The Department of Meteorology announces that the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western provinces, along with the districts of Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara, will experience occasional rain. Certain areas in Sabaragamuwa province, as well as Kurunegala, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts, could see heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm.
Additionally, light rain is anticipated in the Matale and Hambantota districts.
Strong winds are expected on the western slopes of the central hills and in the Northern, North Central, and North Western provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Monaragala districts. Wind speeds may reach 40-50 km/h, with possible gusts in some areas.
