The Kandy District Conference of the Democratic Youth Congress, was held today at the Devon Hotel in Kandy under the leadership of Mr. Arjuna and the district leader of the Democratic Youth Congress, Mr. Mohammad Akeel.
A large number of leaders of the Democratic Youth Congress at the Kandy District Constituency level participated in this, and Mr. K. Arjuna, the leader of the Democratic Youth Congress, said that
the time has come for active youth intervention for democratic reforms and the pressing problems of the people.
Accordingly, the resolution brought by the district leadership was unanimously adopted to convene a comprehensive district conference and a national conference to make immediate interventions for the critical problems of the people and identify what activities can be implemented jointly with political party leaders and institutional systems.
Mr. K. Arjuna, the leader of the Youth Congress, said that Kandy has taken a strong step to create a different type of youth leadership through peaceful and democratic methods.
