According to the report issued today (18) by the Department of Meteorology, an increase in rainfall is expected. The forecast indicates a slight rise in rain conditions in the southwestern part of the island starting tomorrow (19) and continuing over the next few days.
For today (18), several periods of rain are anticipated in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Additionally, strong winds ranging from 40-50 km/h are expected at times in the western slopes of the central hills, northern, north-central, and north-western provinces, and in the Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Monaragala districts.
