The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved the second review of Sri Lanka’s economic program, as announced by Minister Ali Sabri on his X account. This approval paves the way for Sri Lanka to receive the third installment of a comprehensive $2.9 billion loan. Consequently, the IMF Executive Board has sanctioned the release of approximately $336 million to Sri Lanka. In a statement, the IMF highlighted that this funding will facilitate further economic reforms and necessary adjustments to strengthen the country’s economy.
