Two Suspects Arrested Over Midigama Shooting

In relation to a tragic shooting at a fish vendor in Midigama, Matara, which left one person dead and two injured, two suspects have been taken into custody.

The 38-year-old Goviyapana stall owner was killed by the attackers, who entered on a motorcycle and opened fire, according to the police. He passed away at Karapitiya Hospital from his wounds.

The 30 and 38-year-old accused were taken into custody by the Special Task Force (STF) in Midigama yesterday. One had housed the gunmen, and the other had made their getaway easier. Heroin was also discovered to be in the hands of both suspects.
