Nuwan Bopage Elected as Presidential Candidate of People’s Struggle Movement

On July 29, the Colombo Public Library hosted a significant announcement as Nuwan Bopage was elected as the presidential candidate for the People’s Struggle Movement. The announcement was made by Lahiru Weerasekera, with the statement presented in Tamil by Rajkumar Rajivkanth and in English by Sithara Kularatne.

The event saw participation from numerous executive committee members of the People’s Struggle Movement, including Wasantha Mudalige, Tharindu Uduwaragedara, Noor Moreen, Dharmasiri Lankapeli, Mohammad Ishri, Dayapala Thiranagama, Ajantha Alahakoon, P. D. Saranapala, Duminda Nagamuwa, Rajkumar Rajivkanth, Jayantha Amarasinghe, Pubudu Jayagoda, Jude Namal Fernando, V. Mahendran, Wijepala Weerakoon, and others.

Nuwan Bopage, originally from Kolonnawa, Colombo, completed his education at D.S. Senanayake College and Colombo Law College. He has served as a lawyer in the Supreme Court and is currently an executive member of the People’s Struggle Movement.
