The Irrigation Department has issued a cautionary alert regarding the escalating flood risk across various regions within the Kalu Ganga basin. Over the next 48 hours, the department anticipates a gradual increase in the flood severity.
The affected areas primarily encompass the low-lying regions under the jurisdiction of the secretariat divisions of Kiri Ella in Ratnapura district, as well as Millaniya, Ingiriya, Horana, Dodangoda, Bulathsinhala, Palinda Nuwara, and Madurawala in Kalutara district.
