The principal of Nikaveratiya Kaballawa High School has been arrested on suspicion of an incident of serious sexual assault on a schoolgirl.
Nikaveratiya police stated that a 17-year-old student who appeared for the G.C.E O/L Examination this time was sexually assaulted by the suspect.
Accordingly, it is reported that the concerned principal was arrested by the Nikaveratiya Police yesterday (30) afternoon.
It has been revealed that the suspected principal had a romantic relationship with the student and molested her in this way.
The 52-year-old suspected principal who was arrested is scheduled to appear before the Nikaveratiya Magistrate’s Court today (31).
