South Africa Suffers Setback Ahead of Sri Lanka Test Series

November 14, 2024 – South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out of the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka and the following tour against Pakistan due to a groin injury. Medical assessments revealed bilateral proximal adductor tendinopathy, and the 28-year-old is set to start a rehabilitation program, with a planned return in January.

Meanwhile, Test captain Temba Bavuma is making steady progress in his recovery from a left elbow injury. He will undergo a fitness test on Monday, November 18, to confirm his availability for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, beginning on November 27 in Durban.
