There’s going to be occasional rain and thundershowers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces as well as the districts of Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara. Rainfall over 50mm is possible in several parts of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces.
In the Uva Province, as well as the districts of Ampara and Batticaloa, occasional showers or thundershowers will occur during the evening or night.
There will be occasional strong winds over the North, North Central, and North Western provinces, including the districts of Trincomalee, Monaragala, and Hambantota. These winds will also occasionally blow across the western slopes of the Central Highlands. In certain places, wind gusts can reach speeds of 40–45 km/h.
It is urged that residents take safety measures to guard against potential threats such thunderstorm lightning and brief high winds.
