Veteran Singer and Composer Senaka Batagoda Passes Away

Senaka Batagoda, 66, was a well-known singer, lyricist, and composer from Sri Lanka. She passed away today, September 11. It is claimed that he passed away at Ragama Hospital while undergoing care.

With his debut album published in 1994, Batagoda—who is praised for his ability as a guitarist and vocalist—became well-known to young people thanks to his hit songs. Loved by Sri Lankan music enthusiasts include “Api Kavuruda,” “Api Sanasille,” “Rastha,” and “Alu Yata Gini,” among his most popular songs.

His passing is a great loss for the Sri Lankan music scene, as he was well-liked there for his original songs and inventive talents.
