Deadline Approaches for Postal Vote Applications in 2024 Presidential Election

The Election Commission has announced that voters’ lists for the 2024 presidential election will be displayed for the convenience of postal voters. Postal vote applicants across all districts must submit their applications to the Returning Officer at the District Election Office by 12 midnight on August 5. Applications arriving after this deadline will not be considered, so voters are urged to submit their forms promptly.

Application forms for postal voting are available free of charge at the locations where voter lists are displayed, District Election Offices, and on the Election Commission’s website https://elections.gov.lk/.

Given the potential for identical names, applicants are advised to verify their information with someone else before completing their applications. Certified voters’ lists for 2024 will be accessible starting July 26 at District Secretariats, Divisional Secretariats, and Grama Niladhari offices during regular office hours.
