Roof Collapse at Mount Lavinia Hotel Disrupts Train Traffic

CNFadmin

Train traffic has been disrupted today (15th) after strong winds caused a portion of the roof from the back part of the Mount Lavinia Hotel to fall onto the railway track, according to Railway General Manager Transport Mr. M.J Indipolage.

As a result, long-distance trains are currently operating on a single track. Mr. Indipolage stated that efforts are underway to clear the debris and restore normal train operations. In the interim, trains will run on both routes between Wellawatte and Colombo.

Railway workers have been dispatched to promptly remove the fallen roof sheets from the track, ensuring a swift resolution to the disruption.
