Eleven school children from the Mihintale area have been hospitalized following complications from a vaccine administered at Mihintale Hospital. The affected students, aged between 6 and 13, have been transferred to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for further medical treatment.
A spokesperson from Mihintale Hospital revealed that the children were initially admitted for various medical conditions. However, they developed adverse reactions after receiving the vaccine.
The North Central Provincial Health Director has launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the complications.
