Katunayake police have arrested six foreign nationals for staying in Sri Lanka without valid visas, and one individual for possession of duty-free cigarettes.
The arrests occurred yesterday afternoon (11th), following a tip-off received by the Katunayake Police about a suspicious group of foreigners in the Adiambalama area.
Among those arrested, one individual was found with 1,000 illegally imported cigarettes (50 packs).
The detainees, all Indian nationals, are aged 25, 26, 33, 38, 39, and 42.
