The President’s Fund has announced the implementation of a new scholarship grant aimed at students from low-income families across Sri Lanka. Starting July 12, district secretaries will oversee the distribution, in coordination with regional education offices and school principals.
Under this initiative, 6,000 students per educational zone will receive Rs. 6,000 per month for 24 months, totaling Rs. 30,000, beginning with a scholarship award ceremony. Additionally, a monthly scholarship of Rs. 6,000 will continue until students sit for their A/L exams.
This program extends to all 10,126 schools nationwide, covering students from grades 1 to 11 with a monthly stipend of Rs. 3,000 for 12 months. Selected students will receive Rs. 12,000 at the award ceremonies.
Starting next month, students will receive Rs. 3,000 per month as part of this comprehensive scholarship initiative.
