In a tragic incident this morning (08), Athurugiriya town witnessed a deadly shooting during the opening ceremony of a beauty salon near the Clock Canal. Surendra Wasantha Perera, known as “Club Wasantha”, lost his life in the attack, according to police reports.
Among the injured, renowned singer K Sujeevada sustained severe leg injuries. The shooting resulted in five others being wounded, all of whom were promptly rushed to Homagama Hospital and Colombo National Hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding this shocking event.
