The Customs Officers Association has announced a trade union action, with members reporting “Sick leave” today (4th) and tomorrow (5th) in protest against the lack of proper solutions to their demands.
Tharaka Kumarasinghe, a member of the association’s executive committee, stated that this professional action is in response to authorities’ steps to arbitrarily introduce a Revenue Authority Act and amend several sections of the Customs Ordinance Act.
