A minor earthquake struck the Vavuniya region between 10:55 and 11:10 PM yesterday (18th), as reported by the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau. The tremor, which measured 2.3 on the Richter scale, was felt in Vavuniya, Medavachchi, and nearby areas. The seismic activity was recorded at the earthquake centers in Pallakele, Mahakanadarava, and Hakmana, according to the bureau.
