In celebration of the Poson Festival, the Ministry of North Central Province Education has announced the closure of eleven schools in the Anuradhapura Mihintale and Thanthirimale areas from the 18th to the 20th of this month. The affected schools include Anuradhapura Central College, Swarnapali National School, walisingha Harishchandra School, Nivaththakachetiya National School, Zahira National School, Devanampiyathissa Pura School, Mahabodhi Maha Vidyalaya, Mihintale Maha Vidyalaya, Kammalakkulama School in Mihintale, and Thanthirimale School. These closures aim to provide accommodation facilities for police officers arriving from other provinces to perform special security duties. The decision follows a request from the Anuradhapura National Poson Festival Committee and Anuradhapura Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Thilina Hewapathirana to the Ministry of North Central Province Education.
