The Department of Meteorology has issued a statement forecasting rain in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and North-Western provinces today.
Additionally, rain or thundershowers may occur in a few other areas across the island during the evening or night.
Residents are advised to take precautions against potential dangers from temporary strong winds and lightning accompanying the thunderstorms.
