In a morning collision on August 15, 19 people sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital following an accident on the Anuradhapura-Padeniya main road near Srawasthipura Junction. According to the police, the incident occurred when a student bus, transporting school children, was stopped at the junction to pick up students. A bus carrying garment workers, traveling from behind, crashed into the rear of the stationary student bus. The collision has resulted in significant disruption and ongoing medical care for the injured.
