The Department of Examinations has announced the commencement of online applications for the General Information Technology (GIT) Examination for school applicants in 2023 and 2024. The application period is from July 12, 2024, to July 29, 2024. All applications must be submitted through the respective Principal or School Heads.
Principals and Heads of private schools are required to visit the official websites of the Sri Lanka Examinations Department at www.doenets.lk or www.onlineexams.gov.lk/eic, or use the official mobile application ‘DOE’ to access and follow the detailed instructions for the online application process.
Applicants are not allowed to submit their applications in person. Instead, they must use the usernames and passwords already provided to the Principals of Government and Private Schools. Once the application is submitted, a printed copy should be kept for future reference.
Eligibility for this examination includes:
- Students who first appeared in the GCE Advanced Level Examination in 2023 but could not apply for the GIT examination that year.
- Students who were in 12th grade in 2023.
- Students currently studying in 12th grade in 2024.
Private school students must ensure that they enter all required information in the data system according to their respective years before making the fee payment. Once the fees are paid, no new applicants can be admitted.
