Former Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra has filed a bail application with the Colombo High Court, seeking release pending an appeal of her three-year sentence. Ms. Premachandra aims to overturn the recent verdict and has petitioned for her case to be referred to the Court of Appeal.
The Colombo High Court is set to review her bail request on the 4th, presided over by Judge Amal Ranaraja.
