Strict Security Measures Ordered for Election Day

In the case that there are problems at polling places, security personnel, including the police, are authorized to use guns, as disclosed to Lankadeepa by Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles. A thorough security strategy has been created, according to Minister Alles, to guarantee national security both during and after the election.

To keep the peace, the Police Special Task Force (STF) and the three armed forces will be deployed in addition to the normal police forces. Concurrently, the police headquarters declared that unique security protocols will be implemented throughout the vote box transportation process.

A total of 60,000 police officers are planned to be deployed to election-related activities, with additional officials from the STF joining to ensure the integrity of the presidential election process.
