A new center for the rehabilitation of women who are addicted to drugs has been opened by the Bureau of Rehabilitation in Vavuniya. The center, which can house up to 100 women, intends to offer court-mandated rehabilitation treatments.
The Ministry of Justice, Prison Affairs, and Constitutional Reform have already been notified about the facility by the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation. The Judicial Service Commission has responded by informing judges nationwide to direct women who are struggling with drug addiction to the recently opened rehabilitation facility.
