Ukraine Downs 72 of 76 Russian Drones

During a series of strikes targeting 12 southern and eastern districts, Russia launched 76 drones, of which 72 were successfully intercepted by Ukraine’s air defense. Despite the extent of the offensive, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that no major damage has been reported thus far.

Speaking about the latest escalation, President Volodymyr Zelensky underlined how critical it is to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense systems in order to better fend off Russia’s developing drone warfare capabilities.

In a related event, it appears from stories in the international media that President Zelensky will be making a diplomatic trip to the US later this month, most likely to obtain additional backing for Ukraine’s defense efforts.
