First Monkey Fever Case Reported in Pakistan as Virus Spreads Globally

Pakistan has reported its first case of mpox, also known as monkey fever, which has been identified as a global epidemic. A 34-year-old individual in Pakistan has tested positive for the virus, marking the country’s initial infection this year.

The virus has also been detected in San Francisco, California, where foreign media reports indicate that it was found in a sample taken from the city’s water supply. Additionally, Sweden reported its first case of monkey fever on August 15, becoming the latest country to encounter this virus, which has primarily spread across the African continent.

The outbreak has claimed the lives of 450 people in Africa, highlighting the virus’s severe impact on affected regions.
