State Minister Premalal Jayasekara has officially pledged his support to the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) once again. During his visit to the SLPP party office on Nelum Mawatha, Battaramulla, this morning (August 13), Jayasekara expressed his decision to rejoin the party, citing their nomination of a candidate for the upcoming presidential election as a key factor.
Jayasekara’s return to the SLPP follows his recent participation in a rally in Ratnapura, led by Minister Pavithra Vanniarachchi in support of President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Reports indicate that the SLPP has agreed to appoint Jayasekara as the leader of the Ratnapura district, further solidifying his role within the party.
