Aruna Darshana Disqualified at Paris Olympics but Qualifies for World Championships

Sri Lanka’s Aruna Darshana participated in the men’s 400m semi-final at the Paris Olympics on August 6, finishing in 5th place. The race took place at 11:05 PM.

Aruna completed the event with a personal best time of 44.75 seconds. However, the Olympic Committee later disqualified his result due to a lane violation during the race.

Despite the disqualification, Aruna Darshana has qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Japan next year. Video footage of the race is available below.
