Authorities have arrested the owner of a tattoo parlor in connection with the shooting incident in Athurugiriya that claimed the lives of two individuals, including prominent businessman Surendra Wasantha Perera, also known as “Club Wasantha.” Four others were injured in the attack.
The businessman had attended the opening ceremony of the tattoo parlor when the incident occurred. Investigations have revealed that ten million rupees were transferred to the suspect’s bank account from Dubai.
During police questioning, the tattoo parlor owner reportedly confessed, stating, “I helped kill Club Wasantha for a contract from Dubai. According to the plan, I brought Wasantha to the opening ceremony of the tattoo shop and executed the plan to kill him. For that, I received 10 lakh rupees from Dubai.”
