The All Ceylon Nurses’ Union has announced that it will not participate in the state employee trade union action scheduled for today and tomorrow. Chief Secretary S. B. Madiwatta emphasized that a strike would cause significant inconvenience to patients.

Madiwatta acknowledged existing issues within the health sector but stressed that striking is not the solution. He also stated that the government will be held accountable by the people at the earliest opportunity.
