The Attorney General has announced plans to file objections against the bail request of Hirunika Premachandra, who is currently serving a three-year sentence with hard labour.

The bail request was reviewed today by Colombo High Court Judge Amal Ranaraja. During the proceedings, the government lawyer indicated that the Attorney General will submit written objections to the request and requested additional time to do so.

Judge Amal Ranaraja granted the Attorney General’s request, allowing time to prepare the objections. The court has scheduled the next hearing for the bail request on the 11th of July.
