The Sri Lankan government has decided to introduce a special monthly allowance of 25,000 rupees for executive service officers in the public sector, effective from July 1, 2024. This new allowance will replace the existing system, where allowances were based on the length of service.
The President of the Sri Lanka Administrative Services Association, Mahesh Gammanpila, confirmed this development. The new allowance will also extend to officers of the Sri Lanka Engineering Service, Sri Lanka Architect Service, and Sri Lanka Surveyor Service.
