A tragic incident occurred in the Mahagama Colony area of Sevanagala, where a 33-year-old resident was brutally hacked to death with sharp weapons.
The deceased, accompanied by two others, had visited the residence of his brother-in-law. During their visit, a dispute erupted involving the homeowner, his wife, and a neighbor. The altercation escalated when the neighbor attacked the victim with a stick, leading to his death.
Authorities have apprehended the suspect, who is currently receiving medical treatment at Embilipitiya Hospital under police protection due to injuries sustained during the incident. The Sevanagala Police are actively investigating the case.
