Examination results for 70 female students from Trincomalee Zahira College have been withheld due to allegations of malpractice during the examination. The school’s principal, Mr. A. Muhait, confirmed that the results for these students who appeared for the G.E.C. Advanced level exams are currently under investigation by the examination department.

The incident reportedly occurred in classrooms measuring twenty-by-twenty feet, where irregularities were detected during the exam process. Out of 141 students who submitted applications for the exam, 114 actually appeared. This group included 43 male students, whose results have been released, while the remaining 70 female students are facing uncertainty.

In response to the withheld results, the affected students met with Governor Sendil Thondaman to discuss the perceived injustice and seek resolution.

The exams were conducted at an exam center established within Trincomalee Zahira College itself. The examination department has initiated a thorough investigation to determine the extent of the malpractice and to ensure the integrity of the examination process.
