The Colombo High Court has temporarily lifted the travel ban on Geoffrey Aloysius, chairman of Perpetual Treasuries, who is accused of defrauding central bank bonds Scam. This decision allows him to travel abroad for medical treatment within a three-month period.
Aloysius’s lawyer requested permission for his client to seek medical treatment in Singapore, a request which was accepted by the three-judge High Court bench, consisting of judges Amal Perera, Namal Balalle, and Aditya Patabedige.
Following this decision, the court has ordered the Immigration and Emigration Authority to be notified of the temporary lifting of the travel ban on Mr. Aloysius.
