A gazette has been issued increasing the daily wages of tea and rubber workers by 700 rupees.
According to the gazette issued by Labor Commissioner General H. K. K. Jayasundara, their daily salary will be increased to 1,700 rupees.
Currently, the daily wage of tea and rubber industry workers is 1000 rupees.
It is also mentioned in the announcement that if there are any objections regarding this proposed decision, it should be informed about it before May 15.
