In a significant breakthrough, authorities have arrested notorious underworld figures linked to the murder of millionaire businessman Surendra Wasantha Perera, also known as Club Wasantha. Police sources have confirmed that Kanjipani Imran, the alleged mastermind behind the murder, was apprehended in Belarus, while Loku Pati, another underworld member involved in the crime, was captured in Dubai.
Investigations revealed that the plot to kill Surendra Wasantha Perera was orchestrated by Kanjipani Imran and executed by Loku Pati from Dubai. Intelligence sources disclosed that Imran, who had been hiding in France, attempted to flee to Belarus but was intercepted at the French border.
The investigation further uncovered that Kanjipani Imran spent over one crore rupees to carry out the murder of Club Wasantha, highlighting the extensive resources at his disposal in the criminal underworld. Authorities are continuing to probe the network and connections of these underworld figures to dismantle their operations.
