Approval was granted at the cabinet meeting held on 17-03-2025 to transfer a portion of land belonging to the Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation to Sri Lanka Customs for the establishment of the Customs Verification Center in Keravalapitiya. and a committee has been appointed to determine the methodology for the establishment of the said Customs Verification Center.
The said committee has submitted its recommendations with appropriate criteria to select a more viable business model.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, to follow the process of inviting requests for expressions of interest and requests for proposals to select a suitable private partner to implement the proposed Kerawalapituya Customs Verification Center project under a hybrid public-private partnership model.
