The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has declared that the symbolic island-wide strike, which was supposed to start at 8 a.m. tomorrow, has been temporarily suspended.

The decision was made in response to the GMOA’s invitation to speak with all pertinent parties on concerns over the current disciplinary investigation against Dr. Palitha Rajapaksa, the Association’s assistant secretary.

The GMOA Executive Council declared that it will decide on its next move depending on how tomorrow’s talks turn out.
