Plantation Worker Wages Increased to 1,700 Rupees: New Gazette Notice Issued

A new gazette notice has announced an increase in daily wages for plantation workers, raising the amount to 1,700 rupees. The notification, signed by Mr. Jayasundara, Chairman of the Board of Directors H. K. K. A., outlines the wage structure for tea and rubber plantation workers.

Under the new directive, the daily salary for tea plantation workers will be 1,350 rupees, which includes contributions to the Employees’ Provident Fund and Employees’ Trust Fund. Additionally, workers will receive a productivity-based incentive of 350 rupees.

For rubber plantation workers, the daily wage will be directly increased to 1,700 rupees.

The Chairman of the Wage Control Council has invited objections to these proposals. Any concerns must be submitted along with reasons by 12 noon on the 28th.
