The National All Ceylon Nursing Conference, held yesterday (28) and led by National People’s Power leader Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, is facing scrutiny for alleged violations of election laws. The Cafe organization has reported the involvement of government nurses in uniform at the event to the National Election Commission, citing it as a misuse of public resources for political purposes.

The organization argues that the use of government-issued uniforms at a political event breaches both the Code of Institutions and Election Law. In response, the People’s Movement for a Free and Fair Election has also lodged a complaint with the National Election Commission regarding this issue.

Today (29), a meeting was convened between security officials and Election Commission representatives to address the matter. Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security, Mr. Viani Gunathilaka, and Chief of Defense Staff, General Shavendra Silva, were present for the discussions.
